Flesh for Lulu were an English rock band formed in Brixton in 1982, known for gothic post-punk evolving into accessible alternative rock. Early work embraced gothic rock's dark atmosphere with post-punk's angular guitars. As developed, they incorporated American rock influences creating moody yet accessible sound. Their 1987 album 'Long Live the New Flesh' represented commercial peak with singles 'I Go Crazy' and 'Postcards from Paradise.' Their inclusion on 'Some Kind of Wonderful' soundtrack raised US profile. Despite critical respect, commercial breakthrough eluded them, disbanding in 1992 maintaining devoted following among 1980s alternative rock fans.
