The Fixx are an English new wave band formed in London in 1979, known for atmospheric sound, politically conscious lyrics, and distinctive technology use. The band achieved success in the 1980s, particularly in North America, becoming MTV staples with 'One Thing Leads to Another,' 'Saved by Zero,' and 'Red Skies.' Led by Cy Curnin and Jamie West-Oram, The Fixx created sophisticated new wave combining rock guitars with synthesizers producing radio-friendly yet artistically ambitious sound. Their music featured dark, politically charged lyrics over atmospheric arrangements. Albums like 'Reach the Beach' (1983) demonstrated their songwriting ability. Unlike many new wave contemporaries, The Fixx maintained their original lineup for decades, building loyal fanbase through persistence and consistency.
