British new wave band known for their politically charged lyrics and angular guitar work. Their post-punk sound with reggae influences created distinctive style. Though not mainstream successful, their intellectual approach and social commentary influenced British post-punk. Their cult following appreciates their cerebral lyrics and musical innovation in late 1970s/early 1980s.
