Artist: Faust
Genre: Krautrock/Experimental
Faust are a German experimental rock band formed in Hamburg in 1971, considered among krautrock's most important groups. Their radical approach incorporating avant-garde techniques, tape manipulation, and unconventional structures made them pioneers. Albums like 'Faust' (1971) and 'Faust IV' (1973) feature jarring edits and extreme dynamics challenging rock boundaries. Their influence on post-punk, industrial, and experimental rock is significant, with bands from PIL to Sonic Youth citing them as inspiration.
