Artist: Fats Waller
Genre: Jazz
Fats Waller (Thomas Wright Waller) was an American jazz pianist, organist, composer, and entertainer born in 1904 in New York City. He became one of jazz history's most influential figures, particularly in stride piano tradition. Waller's extraordinary technical skill combined with jovial personality made him one of jazz's most beloved performers. As composer, he wrote numerous standards including 'Ain't Misbehavin',' 'Honeysuckle Rose,' and 'The Joint Is Jumpin'.' His piano style featured complex left-hand patterns and inventive right-hand melodies delivered with swing and sophistication. Waller's 1930s recordings showcased both musical brilliance and ability to turn novelty songs into jazz gems. His influence on jazz piano and compositional legacy make him one of music's immortals.
