Factory Floor were an English post-industrial electronic band from London formed in 2005, known for hypnotic, minimalist dance music. The trio created dense, repetitive electronic soundscapes merging industrial textures with techno rhythms. Their music emphasized trance-inducing repetition and physical beats while maintaining avant-garde edge. Factory Floor's early work consisted of extended improvisations, but they gradually refined into structured compositions. Their 2013 debut album represented more accessible entry while retaining minimalism commitment. Tracks could extend for eight minutes, building through subtle variations. The band's aesthetic combined techno physicality with post-punk's experimental spirit. Though they disbanded in 2016, Factory Floor's impact on electronic music's experimental wing remains significant, demonstrating avant-garde and dancefloor functionality coexistence.
