Ellen Foley is an American singer and actress born in 1951, known for her powerful rock voice and her work with Meat Loaf and The Clash. Foley sang the female part on Meat Loaf's 'Paradise by the Dashboard Light' from the mega-selling 'Bat Out of Hell' album. Her solo albums, particularly 'Night Out' produced by Mick Jones and Joe Strummer of The Clash, showcased her rock vocal abilities. Foley also had a successful acting career including a role on the sitcom 'Night Court.' Her powerful voice and ability to handle both rock and theatrical material demonstrated versatility. Despite her talent and notable collaborations, sustained commercial success as a solo artist eluded her.
