Electribe 101 were a British-German electronic music group formed in the late 1980s, known for their blend of electronic dance music with soul vocals. The band consisted of Billie Ray Martin, Joe Stevens, Les Fleming, and Talking Bob Morrison. They achieved success with songs including 'Tell Me When the Fever Ended' and their album 'Electribal Memories.' Electribe 101's music combined house beats with Martin's powerful soul vocals and sophisticated production. They represented the late 1980s/early 1990s fusion of electronic dance music with live vocals and band instrumentation. Despite critical acclaim and club success, commercial success was limited. After splitting in 1992, Billie Ray Martin pursued a solo career in electronic music. Electribe 101 influenced the development of electronic pop and demonstrated that electronic dance music could incorporate strong vocalists and band dynamics while maintaining danceability.
