Elaine Paige is an English singer and actress born in 1948, who became one of musical theater's biggest stars. Paige achieved fame originating roles in major musicals including Evita (creating the role of Eva Perón) and Cats (originating Grizabella). Her recording of 'Memory' from Cats became a worldwide hit. Paige's powerful voice and dramatic presence made her the 'First Lady of British Musical Theatre.' She has starred in numerous West End and international productions including Chess and Sunset Boulevard. Beyond theater, Paige has released numerous albums and hosted a BBC Radio 2 show. She was appointed Dame Commander in 2022. Paige represents British musical theater at its finest, demonstrating exceptional vocal abilities and theatrical presence. She continues performing and remains one of the most celebrated figures in musical theater, maintaining her status across five decades.
