Edwyn Collins is a Scottish musician born in 1959, who first achieved success as leader of the indie pop band Orange Juice before launching a successful solo career. With Orange Juice, Collins helped pioneer indie pop and influenced the development of indie rock in Scotland. His solo career produced the international hit 'A Girl Like You' in 1994, which topped charts worldwide. Collins's music combines wit, melodic sophistication, and a distinctive vocal style. He runs his own label, Analogue Enhanced Digital, and has produced numerous artists. In 2005, Collins suffered two brain hemorrhages but made a remarkable recovery, returning to music and inspiring many with his perseverance. Collins represents Scottish indie pop at its most intelligent and melodic, demonstrating artistic integrity and independence across four decades. He continues recording and performing.
