Eddie Cochran was an American rock and roll musician born in 1938, who became one of the genre's early pioneers and most influential figures. Cochran's energetic rock and roll combined rockabilly, blues, and country influences. His hits included 'Summertime Blues,' 'C'mon Everybody,' and 'Twenty Flight Rock.' Cochran was also an innovative guitarist and songwriter, pioneering multi-tracking and overdubbing techniques. His guitar playing influenced countless rock musicians. Tragically, Cochran died in a car accident in England in 1960 at age 21, cutting short a brilliant career. Despite his brief career, Cochran's influence on rock and roll is enormous, particularly in England where he remains revered. His energetic performances and innovative approach to rock and roll helped define the genre. Cochran was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, recognized as one of rock's founding fathers whose potential was tragically unfulfilled.
