Echoboy were a British indie pop project led by Richard Warren, formerly of The Hybirds. Formed in the late 1990s, Echoboy created melodic indie pop with electronic elements and 1960s influences. Their music featured Warren's songwriting and vocals combined with contemporary production techniques. Echoboy released albums including 'Giraffe' and 'Volume One,' which received positive reviews for their melodic sophistication and production. Despite critical acclaim, Echoboy never achieved major commercial success and remained an underground favorite. The project represented British indie pop's continued evolution, incorporating electronic production while maintaining traditional songwriting values. Warren's work with Echoboy demonstrated that indie pop could embrace modern production techniques without losing melodic sensibility. The project has been largely inactive in recent years, but Warren continues working in music production and songwriting.
