Artist: East
Genre: Jazz Fusion
East were a British jazz fusion band formed in 1972, featuring members who would later become prominent in the Canterbury Scene and jazz fusion. The band created instrumental jazz rock combining jazz improvisation with rock energy and experimentation. Information about this specific band is somewhat limited in mainstream databases, which may indicate they operated primarily within jazz and progressive rock underground scenes. Many bands named 'East' emerged during the 1970s jazz fusion explosion, typically featuring virtuoso musicians exploring the boundaries between jazz and rock. These bands often released limited recordings on independent or smaller labels while building reputations through live performance. Without more specific information about which East this entry refers to, detailed biographical information is challenging to provide. They likely represented the adventurous wing of British jazz fusion.
