Earth, Wind & Fire are an American funk band formed in Chicago in 1969 by Maurice White. They became one of the most successful and influential funk, soul, and R&B groups, known for their horn section, elaborate stage shows, and uplifting messages. EW&F's music combined funk, soul, jazz, pop, rock, disco, and African influences with sophisticated arrangements and tight musicianship. Massive hits included 'September,' 'Shining Star,' 'Boogie Wonderland,' 'Let's Groove,' and 'Fantasy.' The band's positive, spiritual lyrics and spectacular live performances made them hugely popular. They won multiple Grammy Awards and sold over 90 million records worldwide. Maurice White passed away in 2016, but the band continues performing. Earth, Wind & Fire represent funk and soul at their most joyful and sophisticated, creating timeless music that transcends genres and continues to inspire artists across all styles.
