Canadian indie rock project of Dan Bejar, also member of The New Pornographers. His literate, often cryptic lyrics and eclectic musical approach create sophisticated indie rock. His albums range from lo-fi to lush orchestral arrangements. His cult following appreciates his intellectual approach and refusal to compromise artistically. His influence on indie rock's literary wing and his consistent quality maintain his critical respect despite limited mainstream recognition.
