Artist: Demon
Genre: Heavy Metal
Demon are an English heavy metal band formed in Staffordshire in 1979, becoming part of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. The band, led by Dave Hill, created melodic heavy metal with occult themes. Demon released several albums in the early 1980s including 'Night of the Demon' and 'The Plague,' which received critical acclaim in the metal press. Their music combined twin guitar harmonies with Hill's powerful vocals and dark lyrical themes. Despite their quality and devoted following, Demon never achieved major commercial success and remained underground favorites. The band went through numerous lineup changes and periods of inactivity but has continued performing. Demon represents NWOBHM's more melodic, occult-influenced wing, creating music that balanced heaviness with melody and atmosphere. They maintain a cult following among heavy metal enthusiasts.
