Artist: Dead or Alive
Genre: New Wave/Dance
British new wave band fronted by Pete Burns, known for their hi-NRG dance hits. Their massive hit 'You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)' became 1980s dance classic. Burns' androgynous appearance and powerful vocals made him controversial icon. Their influence on dance-pop and LGBTQ+ representation in 1980s pop culture remains significant despite limited sustained commercial success beyond their signature international hit.
