With Linx, Grant scored hits including 'You're Lying' and 'Intuition' in the early 1980s, helping pioneer British funk and soul. As a solo artist, Grant had hits including 'Watching You Watching Me' and his duets with Jaki Graham, particularly 'Could It Be I'm Falling in Love.' Grant's smooth vocals and sophisticated soul-pop made him a favorite on UK radio. Beyond performing, Grant became a vocal coach and television personality, appearing as a judge on talent shows. His contribution to British soul and R&B helped establish that UK artists could create authentic soul music.
