Darts were a British doo-wop revival band formed in London in 1976, becoming one of the most successful acts of the late 1970s rock and roll revival. The nine-piece band featured multiple vocalists including Den Hegarty and Rita Ray, creating energetic performances of 1950s and 1960s rock and roll and doo-wop classics. Darts scored numerous UK hits including 'Daddy Cool/The Girl Can't Help It,' 'Come Back My Love,' and 'Boy from New York City.' Their music revitalized classic rock and roll for contemporary audiences with authentic performances and infectious energy. Darts were hugely popular on television and in live performance, their large lineup and choreographed shows making them excellent entertainers. Despite lineup changes, Darts maintained success through the early 1980s. They represented the rock and roll revival movement, demonstrating that 1950s music could find new audiences through enthusiastic, authentic performance.
