Artist: Cud
Genre: Alternative Rock
Cud were an English indie rock band formed in Leeds in 1987, known for their quirky, humorous approach to alternative rock. The band consisted of Carl Puttnam, Mike Dunphy, Steve Goodwin, and William Potter. Cud achieved cult success in the early 1990s with their energetic, bass-heavy sound and witty lyrics. Their songs combined indie rock with funk influences and Puttnam's distinctive vocal delivery. Singles like 'Oh No, Won't Do' and 'Through the Roof' received airplay on alternative radio. Cud's music was characterized by its sense of humor, unconventional song topics, and refusal to take themselves too seriously. While never achieving mainstream breakthrough, they built a devoted following on the UK indie circuit. Cud disbanded in 1995 but have reunited for performances. They represented the more playful, fun side of British indie rock during the early 1990s.
