Cream were a British rock supergroup formed in London in 1966, consisting of Eric Clapton on guitar, Jack Bruce on bass and vocals, and Ginger Baker on drums. Widely considered the first successful supergroup, Cream pioneered heavy blues rock and psychedelic rock, influencing the development of hard rock and heavy metal. Their powerful blues-based music featured extended improvisational passages and showcased the virtuosity of all three members. Cream's hits included 'Sunshine of Your Love,' 'White Room,' 'Crossroads,' and 'Badge.' Despite their enormous success and influence, the band lasted only two and a half years, disbanding in 1968 due to internal tensions. Their legacy as one of rock's most influential bands remains undisputed, with their blues rock template influencing countless subsequent rock bands.
