Clint Mansell is an English musician and composer born in 1963, best known as the lead vocalist of Pop Will Eat Itself before becoming one of cinema's most respected film composers. With Pop Will Eat Itself, Mansell created sample-heavy industrial rock in the late 1980s and early 1990s. After the band ended, Mansell transitioned to film composition, collaborating frequently with director Darren Aronofsky. His scores for 'Requiem for a Dream,' 'The Fountain,' and 'Black Swan' are considered modern classics. Mansell's film music is characterized by minimalist motifs, electronic elements, and emotional intensity. His piece 'Lux Aeterna' from 'Requiem for a Dream' has become one of the most recognizable modern film themes. Mansell's successful transition from industrial rock to acclaimed film composition demonstrates his versatility and musical talent.
