Brother Beyond were a British pop band formed in London in 1987, achieving late 1980s success with polished pop-rock. The band consisted of Nathan Moore, Carl Fysh, David White, and Steve Alexander. They scored several UK hits including 'The Harder I Try,' 'He Ain't No Competition,' and their biggest hit 'The Girl I Used to Know.' Brother Beyond's music combined contemporary pop production with soul and rock influences, featuring strong melodies and Nathan Moore's powerful vocals. The band was positioned as a mature, sophisticated pop act. Despite chart success and professional musicianship, they disbanded in 1991 as musical tastes shifted, representing the polished, radio-friendly late 1980s UK pop.
