Artist: Brilliant
Genre: New Wave
Brilliant were a British pop/new wave group formed in 1982, featuring Youth (later of Killing Joke and successful producer) and June Montana. The band was part of the early 1980s new romantic movement, creating synth-pop with dance influences. They achieved modest success with singles including 'It's a Man's Man's Man's World' and gained attention for stylish image and videos. Brilliant's music combined electronic production with pop hooks and Montana's powerful vocals. Despite major label support and promotion, the band never achieved major commercial success and disbanded mid-1980s. Youth went on to greater success as producer and bassist with Killing Joke.
