Brian May is an English guitarist, singer, and songwriter born in 1947, best known as Queen's lead guitarist. May is considered one of the greatest rock guitarists, known for his distinctive sound created with his homemade 'Red Special' guitar and sixpence coin pick. His guitar orchestrations, multi-tracked harmonies, and melodic solos were fundamental to Queen's sound. May wrote many Queen hits including 'We Will Rock You,' 'Who Wants to Live Forever,' and 'The Show Must Go On.' He holds a Ph.D. in astrophysics. After Freddie Mercury's death, May continued Queen's legacy, performing with Paul Rodgers and later Adam Lambert. He's revered for musical contributions and intellect.
