Artist: Breathe
Genre: Synthpop
Breathe were a British pop band formed in London in 1984, achieving late 1980s success with sophisticated synth-pop sound. The band consisted of David Glasper, Marcus Lillington, Ian Spice, and Michael Delahunty. Breathe scored international hits with 'Hands to Heaven' and 'How Can I Fall?,' both reaching US top five. Their music was characterized by lush synthesizer arrangements, soulful vocals, and romantic lyrics appealing to adult contemporary audiences. Breathe's sound was more mature and sophisticated than typical synth-pop, incorporating soul and jazz elements. Despite initial success, Breathe was unable to maintain commercial momentum and disbanded in early 1990s.
