Bobby Brown is an American singer, songwriter, and dancer born in 1969, who achieved major success as a solo artist after leaving New Edition. Brown pioneered the new jack swing sound with producer Teddy Riley, combining R&B vocals with hip-hop beats and production. His album 'Don't Be Cruel' in 1988 was massively successful, spawning multiple number one hits including 'My Prerogative,' 'Every Little Step,' and 'Roni.' Brown's bad boy image, energetic performances, and innovative sound made him one of the biggest late 1980s and early 1990s R&B stars. His influence on contemporary R&B and hip-hop was substantial.
