Artist: Bananarama
Genre: Pop
Bananarama are a British female pop group formed in London in 1981, consisting of Sara Dallin, Siobhan Fahey, and Keren Woodward. They became one of the most successful British girl groups of all time, known for their catchy pop songs and distinctive harmonies. Bananarama achieved international success throughout the 1980s with hits including 'Cruel Summer,' 'Venus' (which topped the US charts), 'Robert De Niro's Waiting,' and 'Love in the First Degree.' Their music combined new wave and dance-pop elements with girl group sensibilities. The trio's fun, accessible image and infectious melodies made them MTV favorites. Fahey left in 1988 to form Shakespears Sister. They hold the Guinness World Record for the most charted entries by an all-female group.
