The Bachelors were an Irish pop group from Dublin, consisting of brothers Con and Dec Cluskey and John Stokes. Formed in the late 1950s, they achieved greatest success in the 1960s with easy listening pop hits. The Bachelors specialized in close harmony vocal arrangements of romantic ballads and popular standards. Their hits included 'Charmaine,' 'Diane,' 'I Believe,' and 'Ramona.' The group's wholesome image and smooth harmonies made them popular with adult audiences during the British Invasion era, offering an alternative to more rebellious rock groups. They appeared regularly on television variety shows and maintained success through the 1960s and into the 1970s.
