B.B. King was an American blues guitarist and singer born Riley B. King in 1925, widely considered one of the greatest blues musicians of all time. King developed a distinctive guitar style characterized by fluid string bending, vibrato, and economical phrasing. His guitar 'Lucille' became almost as famous as King himself. King's hits included 'The Thrill Is Gone,' '3 O'Clock Blues,' and 'Every Day I Have the Blues.' His smooth vocal style and expressive guitar made blues accessible to wider audiences. King performed tirelessly, playing over 300 concerts yearly well into his seventies. He won 15 Grammys and was inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame. He passed away in 2015 as the 'King of the Blues.'
