B.A. Robertson (Brian Alexander Robertson) is a Scottish musician and songwriter born in 1948, who achieved success as both performer and songwriter. Robertson had late 1970s and early 1980s UK hit singles including 'Bang Bang,' 'Knocked It Off,' and 'To Be or Not to Be.' His music featured quirky, humorous lyrics and catchy pop melodies with new wave influences. Beyond performing, Robertson became a successful songwriter, writing hits for other artists including 'The Living Years' for Mike + The Mechanics (co-written with Mike Rutherford) and 'Wishing I Was Lucky' for Wet Wet Wet. His songwriting success proved more enduring than his solo career.
