Artist: Aztec Camera
Genre: New Wave
Aztec Camera were a Scottish new wave band formed in East Kilbride in 1980, essentially the vehicle for singer-songwriter Roddy Frame. Frame formed the band as a teenager and quickly gained attention for sophisticated songwriting and jazz-influenced guitar. They achieved success with debut album 'High Land, Hard Rain' in 1983, featuring hit 'Oblivious.' Later hits included 'Somewhere in My Heart.' Frame's literate lyrics and complex chord progressions set Aztec Camera apart from typical new wave acts.
