Artist: Athletico Spizz
Genre: Punk

Athletico Spizz 80 (and various other names including Spizzenergi and The Spizzles) was the project of British punk musician Spizz (real name Mark Spight), formed in the late 1970s. Known for constantly changing the band name (allegedly to avoid contractual obligations and maintain independence), Spizz created energetic punk and new wave music with a quirky, DIY aesthetic. The band achieved a UK hit with 'Where's Captain Kirk?' in 1980, which combined punk energy with science fiction themes and new wave sensibilities. Spizz's music was characterized by fast tempos, shouted vocals, and a sense of humor that distinguished it from more serious punk. While never achieving major commercial success, Athletico Spizz 80 and its various incarnations represented the independent, experimental spirit of British punk and new wave. The band's constant reinvention and refusal to conform made them cult favorites among punk and new wave enthusiasts.
