Aswad are a British reggae group formed in London in 1975, becoming one of the UK's most successful reggae bands. The band's name means 'black' in Arabic. Aswad were pioneers in blending traditional roots reggae with contemporary pop and R&B elements. They achieved major crossover success in the late 1980s with their reggae-pop version of 'Don't Turn Around,' which reached number one in the UK, along with hits like 'Shine' and 'Give a Little Love.'
