Animal Nightlife were a British jazz-funk and pop band formed in London in 1980, known for their sophisticated blend of jazz, funk, and pop influences. The band featured vocalist Flid, and their sound was characterized by brass sections, funky bass lines, and slick production. They achieved their biggest hit with 'Mr. Solitaire' in 1984. Despite critical acclaim and a devoted following in the UK club scene, Animal Nightlife never achieved major mainstream success but remain remembered for their contribution to British jazz-funk.
