Alvin Stardust was an English rock singer born Bernard William Jewry in 1942. He first found fame in the 1960s as Shane Fenton before reinventing himself as Alvin Stardust in 1973 with a leather-clad, glam rock image. His distinctive deep voice and menacing stage persona made him unique in British pop. Stardust scored numerous UK hits including 'My Coo Ca Choo,' 'Jealous Mind,' and 'Red Dress.' He remained active in entertainment until his death in 2014.
