Altered Images were a Scottish new wave band formed in Glasgow in 1979, fronted by vocalist Clare Grogan. The band achieved significant success in the early 1980s with their upbeat, quirky pop sound and Grogan's distinctive vocal style. Their biggest hit was 'Happy Birthday,' which reached number two in the UK in 1981. Other successful singles included 'I Could Be Happy' and 'See Those Eyes.' Grogan's natural charm and the band's colorful image made them MTV favorites.
