Allan Clarke is an English rock singer best known as the lead vocalist of The Hollies, one of the most successful British bands of the 1960s. Born in 1942 in Salford, Clarke co-founded The Hollies in 1962 and his distinctive tenor voice became central to their sound. With The Hollies, Clarke sang on numerous hits including 'Bus Stop,' 'He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother,' and 'Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress.' His clear, powerful voice and harmonic sensibility helped define the British Invasion sound.
