Alan Stivell is a Breton musician born in 1944, credited with reviving interest in Celtic music and the Celtic harp. Stivell learned to play the Celtic harp from childhood and devoted himself to preserving Breton and Celtic musical traditions. His 1972 album 'Renaissance of the Celtic Harp' and live album 'À l'Olympia' brought Celtic music to international audiences. Stivell's music combines traditional Celtic melodies with contemporary rock and folk elements. He continues to perform as an ambassador for Celtic culture.
