Al Kooper is an American songwriter, record producer, and multi-instrumentalist who played a crucial role in 1960s rock music development. Born in 1944, Kooper is perhaps best known for his organ work on Bob Dylan's 'Like a Rolling Stone.' He was a founding member of Blood, Sweat & Tears, pioneering the integration of horn sections into rock. Kooper also formed the Blues Project and recorded influential solo albums including 'Super Session.' As a producer, he worked with Lynyrd Skynyrd, helping establish Southern rock.
