Age of Chance were an English alternative dance band formed in Leeds in 1983, pioneering the fusion of rock music with hip-hop beats and sampling. The band was ahead of their time in combining live instruments with turntables and electronic elements. They gained attention with their 1986 cover of Prince's 'Kiss,' featuring heavy sampling and a rock-meets-hip-hop approach. Though they never achieved mainstream breakthrough, Age of Chance influenced numerous alternative and electronic rock bands in the UK indie-dance scene.
