Artist: A Certain Ratio
Genre: Post-punk
A Certain Ratio were an English post-punk band formed in Manchester in 1977, becoming one of the most innovative groups from the Factory Records roster. They pioneered a unique sound fusing post-punk with funk, jazz, Latin rhythms, and electronic music, creating danceable yet experimental music. ACR's music featured complex percussion, funky bass lines, angular guitars, and use of samplers. While never achieving massive commercial success, they influenced many later bands and remain active today.
